The refractory and mechanical maintenance services for Kilns #1 and #2 at AlSafwa Cement Co. are scheduled to take place in May/June 2024. They are expected to be completed within 14 effective working days. During the shutdown, the following tasks will be carried out:
Demolition, cleaning, and relining of 80 meters of the kiln.
Sandblasting work for the kiln, covering a total area of 764 m².
Demolition, cleaning, and installation of castable, insulation materials, and anchors in the kiln hood, cooler, preheater, and inlet slope.
Total castable installation weight: 458 tons.
Demolition, cleaning, and installation of bricks in the tertiary air duct (TAD), cooler, and preheater.
Total brick installation weight: 117 tons.
Supply, installation, and removal of internal scaffolding related to the refractory work.
Supply, installation, and removal of external scaffolding.
Total scaffolding volume: 11,000 m³.
Replacement of chain links and sprocket.
Shimming of Tire 1 and Tire 3.
Fixing of missing or broken tire pad stoppers on Tires 1, 2, and 3.
Replating work.
Complete replacement.
Replacement of selective diaphragm liners, retainer rings, and scoops.
Replacement of classifying shell liners.
Complete replacement of drying chamber liners and lifters.
This comprehensive maintenance plan is aimed at ensuring the optimal performance and longevity of Kilns #1 and #2 at AlSafwa Cement Co.
